Why?
Does this mean that none of the current committee applied?
Most of the current committee will be graduating at the end of the year and leaving UCT. And for those who will still be ay UCT next year, it's unfair to ask them to serve another year. Running a society is a lot of time and effort. It's worth it, of course, but to do it for two three years in a row... eventually you get to the point where you feel like this:  |

Why would this affect the forum aside fromt he fact that it is an extension of the Society? Surely the Forum is operated independantly from the society? |

nope. it only really helps if u wanna apply for anime director which is apachai's post this year and OSF's last year. if ur interested and willing apply! its actually a lot of fun and u get to make some good friends. basically the post are as follows: chair- be able to sign ur name and organise vice-chair- same as above anime director- anime knowledge useful secretary- be able to type and keep up with screening/event posts marketer- posters treasurer- be honest |

As azilver said, not really. Course it helps if you are a fan, anyway. What you need is to be enthusiastic about growing the social aspects of anime culture, and be willing to put in time and energy to the society. Be willing to commit, that is the most important thing. |

It would be a real pity of this had to happen... people worked hard to bring the society into existence, and it would be terrible if it died just because people are unwilling to commit/lazy. I feel justified in saying "lazy" because earlier this year there were people making a lot of noises about what the society should do, and all the ideas that they had for making it better. But when push comes to shove, nobody stands up. |

uhmm... are these people you speak of registered students of uct, otherwise there's your problem. but yeah it seems you only need 6 people which is not such a tall order Currently, all the positions are open, and they are as follows:
Chairman
Vice-Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Marketing Director
Anime Director
I'll put up a detailed account of their functions as soon as I can.
lastly why not just briefly 'in 1 sentence' explain what is the basic's of each role maybe then people will be less 'scarred' and more motivated to sign up |
